As an Extension Instructor with the GCD, Jason Camp plans and delivers educational programs for county and municipal officials in Mississippi; particularly tax assessors and collectors. He manages the Mississippi Assessor Education and Certification program that serves over 500 certified appraisers in Mississippi.

Camp has been selected to serve on various committees that support mass appraisal education. He is active with the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) the global leader and preeminent source of standards, professional development and research in property appraisal, assessment administration and property tax policy where he serves on the Education Committee.

Camp, along with fellow faculty from the GCD, developed The KEYS to Community program that helps young people understand how their county government operates, what their county government is trying to accomplish, how the actions of government affect their everyday life, and their personal responsibility to local government. Camp was recognized in 2016 for his work with the KEYS program, with the Mississippi State University Extension Customer Outreach Award in recognition of significant contributions to outstanding programming within Extension. He received his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Information Science with a minor in Public Relations, and master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University.
